Kurukshetra University inaugurates admission module of IUMS portal – Times of India

Kurukshetra University (KU) vice-chancellor Prof Som Nath Sachdeva on Tuesday inaugurated the IUMS (Integrated University Management System) portal for undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD online admissions at the varsity campus.

Prof Som Nath said, “It is a major step towards making KU a completely digital university as per the vision of Prime Minister Modi and Haryana CM Manohar Lal.”

All processes from the admission process of the university to the preparation of mark sheets of the students, from all the records of the employees and the institutes, office related work, hostel admissions, room allotments, PR services, all the necessary online services of the students, all the services related to finance and all the services related to the examination will be gradually fully digitized by March 2022, added Prof Som Nath.

The online portal will play an important role to reach the students and there will be transparency and accountability in the work along with saving of time and paper. “Our vision is to be a student friendly university and complete digitization is a step in that direction,” said Prof Som Nath. From Tuesday onwards, the admission process in all the departments of the university will start from the IUMS portal and students can easily complete the entire process from their homes.

For creating this online system the VC congratulated RUSA nodal officer Prof Manjula Chaudhary, registrar Sanjeev Sharma, coordinator, Prof Pradeep Kumar, Professor-In-charge Admission Cell Prof Rajender Nath, controllers of exam Hukam Singh and Ankeshwar, and chief wardens Prof DS Rana and Prof Neelam Dhanda.

RUSA nodal officer Prof Manjula Chaudhary said that work on this project was going on since 2019. With the formation of this system, admission in the university teaching department, institute of integrated and honors studies, PhD and other courses being run in the university will be done on a single platform. With these facilities being online, the students enrolling in the university will get all the information online from their admission till the completion of their studies, said Prof Manjula.

Coordinator Dr Pradeep Kumar informed that the admissions of 171 courses of 49 departments of the university have been integrated on a single platform. With this, the student can apply for various courses by registering once on the portal. Admission Cell Professor Incharge Prof. Rajender Nath welcomed everyone and told about the features of IUMS portal. The experts of Admission Cell and technical team of RUSA Automation Centre displayed the admission process in front of all the members of the committee.
